In Which A Passage Brings Back Funny Memories
March 12, 2010
I laughed to read his essay which compares
Our tendency to chase down UFOs
To luring his two cats from their affairs
By flashing ’round his laser pointer; lo!
Now here again the metaphor appears
Amidst his larger excursis; it works
As perfectly as were it new. It spears
Just perfectly the goofiness that lurks
‘Neath our pursuits of ev’ry last report
Of lights or hums — or wee folk — where we don’t
Think they belong. Is it as much good sport
For cryptohominids as ’twas for Mac
When Spook and EBE went on the attack?
Bonus: click here to listen to audio of Mac talking to his cats.
